Join Bob on Idaho’s Middle
Fork of The Salmon River, August 10-15, 2020. The Frank Church Wilderness is spectacular beyond
belief, nestled in The Sawtooth Mountains of central Idaho with 78 peaks over
10,000 feet, offers exciting, yet safe white water, some of the best trout
fishing anywhere in the world, awesome beauty, and white sandy beach campsites
surrounded by towering Ponderosa Pines. During this best week of summer -
you’ll see much wildlife from big horn sheep to river otters to moose and
eagles. Each afternoon there’ll be time for seminar, sharing and the
special personal insights for which these trips are known.
CREDITS: This year’s breathtaking
leadership/Adventure Seminar will explore “Mastering
the Rivers of Your Life”. Two
hours each day we’ll focus on leadership mastery in the context of a life well
lived. We’ll do important reflection and life planning, utilizing the
wilderness for experiential learning and metaphor along with light readings and
discussions. Earn up to two CE credits per day!
Adventure ~ during
this six-day & five night river trip we will float 100 miles of pristine
river. This will be my ninth trip
down the crown jewel of wild and scenic rivers through the 2.4 million-acre
Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
Janet, Laura and I had a
ball! That will be a family vacation we will remember
fondly. What great beauty and adventure. We look forward to joining
you again!”~ Dr.
Tom McDougal and Family Dallas, Texas, - 972-231-5376.
There will be plenty of time for seminar
and for indulging in some of the best fishing in the West (Cutthroat, Dolly
Varden and bull trout), take a wild flower hike, soak in a hot
spring or admiring the fine scenery
including homesteads, remnants of the
early prospectors, trails and pictographs painted by the river’s earliest
inhabitants, the Tukudeka or Sheepeater Indians, a horseless tribe that once
roamed & hunted the canyon. Our guide, Idaho Wilderness Company, provides a
stress-free, relaxing vacation that includes delicious hearty meals, clean-up,
as well as setting up & breaking down camp.
Each day after breakfast and lunch
you’ll have your choice of river craft…the massive Sweep boat for great
fishing, the Oar boats for fishing or sightseeing, the Paddle boat or the
Inflatable Kayaks for the more adventuresome. And yes, you can change crafts!
The rapids range from gentle class I riffles to heart pounding class III &
IV”s on a scale of I to VI. With names
that are legendary, like Velvet, Hells Half Mile, Tappen Falls, Devil’s Tooth, Pistol
Creek, Powerhouse and Rubber. Not all is whitewater, calm stretches
interspersed with small rapids for the more cautious to try their hand at
paddling or even swimming.
